Katherine Paculba

Katherine Paculba earned her Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from Wellesley College, cum laude. In the years between her undergraduate studies and law school Katherine taught English in Japan and spent six years living in New York City, where she worked as an Administrator in the Musical Instruments Department of the auction house Sotheby's and for a boutique public relations agency as a Publicist specializing in classical musicians. Katherine returned to her native San Diego to fulfill her long-held dream of going to law school, and graduated magna cum laude from Thomas Jefferson School of Law in 2008.
Ms. Paculba has experience defending clients in a broad range of civil litigation matters, including personal injury, breach of contract, employment discrimination, product liability, medical malpractice, and construction defect litigation.
While in law school Katherine served as an Articles Editor on Law Review and received the CALI Excellence for the Future award and the Witkin Award for Academic Excellence in Civil Procedure I, Remedies, and Negotiation Theory & Skills. Katherine was an extern for the Honorable Roger T. Benitez at the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California and a Pupil at the Hon. J. Clifford Wallace American Inn of Court. She passed the July 2008 California Bar Exam and began her practice in civil litigation in San Diego.
In 2010 Katherine was the recipient of the State Bar of California's Wiley W. Manuel Award for Pro Bono Legal Services for her work with CasaCorneliaLawCenter, in which she successfully represented her detained client in an asylum case before the Immigration Court of San Diego. Katherine also received a Wiley W. Manuel Certificate in 2011 for her many pro bono hours of service to the Legal Aid Society of San Diego as a volunteer attorney.
Katherine joined Walsh McKean Furcolo as an Associate in June 2010. She is a member of the State Bar of California, San Diego County Bar Association, Lawyers Club of San Diego, and is an Associate in The Hon. J. Clifford Wallace American Inn of Court.
Katherine's personal interests include spending time outdoors and many years of playing the violin and studying flamenco dance.
