Steve Kerins is an associate at Walsh McKean Furcolo practicing in areas including insurance coverage, construction defect, and disputes concerning real property including claims of inverse condemnation. With respect to insurance coverage, his experience ranges from advice and counsel regarding specific policy terms to coverage litigation, and his litigation practice has included matters arising in state and federal courts throughout California.
Steve obtained his Juris Doctor cum laude from the University of San Diego School of Law in 2010. He was a recipient of the USD Law Honor Scholarship during the 2007-2008 school year, as well as the T.C. Rothans Public Service Scholarship during the 2009-2010 school year. While in law school, Steve became a member of the Phi Delta Phi legal fraternity; served for two years as a member of the San Diego International Law Journal; and participated in USD Law's Land Use Clinic. He received a CALI Award for his performance in Contemporary Issues in Water Law, and was honored at graduation with the Irvin J. Kahn Award for Excellence in Real Property Courses. Steve graduated cum laude from the University of Notre Dame in 2007, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts with a major in psychology and an honors major in anthropology. Among the distinctions he received at Notre Dame are membership in Psi Chi, the International Honor Society in Psychology; membership in Lambda Alpha, the National Collegiate Honors Society for Anthropology; several semesters on the Dean's List; and selection as a Notre Dame Scholar.
Steve joined Walsh McKean Furcolo LLP as an associate in December 2010. He is currently an associate member of the Hon. J. Clifford Wallace American Inn of Court, as well as a member of the Urban Land Institute and of the San Diego County Bar Association. He is admitted to practice in California as well as before the U.S. District Courts for the Northern, Central, and Southern Districts of California.
